More than just a remembrance, the concert is a celebration of the wisdom, generosity, and artistic brilliance that Ustad Zakir Hussain shared with generations of musicians and listeners. Curated and led by acclaimed composer, drummer, and producer Ranjit Barot, the evening brings together a remarkable ensemble of some of the finest musicians to perform Ranjit’s original compositions.

    For Mr. Barot, Zakir Ji was not only a towering musical inspiration but also a mentor and an elder brother whose guidance shaped his artistic journey. Through powerful music, improvisation, and collective spirit, the concert pays homage to the teachings, warmth, and boundless creativity that Zakir Hussain embodied — reminding us that while legends may depart, their rhythm continues to resonate through the music and the musicians they inspired.
