Tazim Sheikh Collective is a contemporary ensemble blending Progressive Jazz with Hindustani classical traditions. Led by Kolkata-born, Mumbai based pianist and composer Tazim Sheikh, the group explores original music that bridges Western harmony and Indian melodic expression. The collective features Avishek Dey on bass, Shravan Samsi on drums, Sudhendu Halder on sarangi, and Anoushka Majumdar on santoor, creating a rich interplay of improvisation and texture. Rooted in tradition yet forward-looking in spirit, their music unfolds as an evolving conversation, lyrical, dynamic and deeply evocative.
