This week, we feature a rare 1931 self-portrait by Amrita Sher-Gil, one of India’s most iconic modern artists. Bold and introspective, the painting reflects her rebellious spirit and artistic brilliance—often likened to Frida Kahlo—capturing the essence of a trailblazing career cut short but deeply influential.

Your guide, Dyuti Mittal is an award winning artist and design educator with over 15 years of experience as a post graduate in Visual Communication Design. Having studied at Srishti School of Art and Design, SVA New York, UCA London and with certifications from IIT Delhi, she has in recent years taught design at various institutes of the country. Her artworks have been exhibited at various galleries of the country. She avoids definitions and her work tries to create an equal, beautiful and sensitive world where innocence and individuality are celebrated.
