Progressive Rock
Motherjane can be rightly called one of the most influential bands out of India. With humble beginnings in 1996, they managed to create quite a fan following in no time, not only in India but also in other countries. This owing to their unique blend of Indian ethnic elements with progressive rock - which they termed ' Ethnic Progressive Rock'.
Their album, Insane Biography, released in 2002, is regarded as one of the most influential records in Indian rock till date. Their second album, Maktub, released in 2008, clearly caught the attention of the music industry and gave a clear niche to the band.The band has toured extensively both within and beyond the country, the main international tours being in countries like Indonesia, Ukraine, Sri Lanka and UAE.
