Marty Friedman is a world-renowned guitarist celebrated for his highly unique and emotive playing style. He first gained prominence in the late 1980s with the neoclassical metal duo Cacophony, alongside Jason Becker, where they were lauded for their technical prowess and intricate dual-guitar harmonies.

Following his first solo album, Dragon's Kiss, in 1988, Friedman has cultivated a prolific solo career with numerous instrumental albums. His playing is instantly recognizable for its exotic melodies, unconventional string bends, and a distinctive vibrato, heavily influenced by Japanese enka (traditional ballads) and other non-Western scales.
