Plato once called rhythm “the order in movement.” Drummer Magnus Dauner takes that idea to heart on his album Portrait in Rhythm. A trained jazz musician and tireless traveler, he’s spent the last decade in Bangalore studying Konnakol and Mridangam at the Karnataka College of Percussion. Along the way, he’s worked with leading Indian artists like R.A. Ramamani, T.A.S. Mani, and B.C. Manjunath. The result is music that blends his global influences into sharp, original compositions - complex yet full of life.
