Tropical Soul, in two words that make up the title, David Walters lays out the keynotes of his new album.
Tropical Soul, this tropical soul that knows how to celebrate life's important moments through music, connects him once again to his history, to his family from the West Indies, shortly after his mother's departure.
Today, more than ever, he is the guardian of this Caribbean soul that soothed him.
Since "Awa," his first album, David has never stopped singing about this string of islands tossed between the Americas,
while affirming his path a few thousand kilometers away. "Awa means no in Creole," he explained at the time with a broad smile.
"A no that makes you feel good, frees you from behaviors that don't suit you." More than fifteen years later, that smile still lights up his face.
He is her guide, like a solar star hanging from the ceiling of her thoughts and resolutions, and this is heard throughout her 13 joyful tracks.
