Barmer Boys are the next generation of performers carrying forward the centuries-old musical traditions of the Manganiyars. As global ambassadors of Rajasthani folk and Sufi music, the trio brings infectious energy and versatility to every performance. Their setlist ranges from soulful Sufi kalaams and Krishna bhajans to high-energy wedding songs and boisterous jams with beatboxing.
Formed in 2011 at the Amarrass Desert Music Festival, Barmer Boys made their international debut in 2014 with a US tour, followed by showcases at the Borneo World Music Festival and Roskilde Festival.
Over the past decade, they have performed at over 250 concerts across 25 countries, including major international festivals such as Roskilde, WOMAD, Ancient Trance, FMM Sines, Wassermusik, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Ziro Festival of Music, Clockenflap (Hong Kong), and many more.
Barmer Boys blend traditional instruments like morchang, bhapang, khartal, dholak, and harmonium with contemporary elements such as beatboxing. Their performances move between the spiritual and the high-energy, creating an experience that is both deeply rooted and modern.
