Bareilly ki Bajariya to Bambai Nagariya is a Songs and Stories edition by Dholak Rani - a music and spoken word showcase featuring popular songs from Hindi cinema that carry the musical DNA of North India’s Ganga-Jamuna belt. From salons to street corners, the region’s melodies, dialects, and song forms have inspired generations of Hindi film composers and lyricists - from Naushad to A.R. Rahman, and Majrooh Sultanpuri to Javed Akhtar.

This performance is a celebration of a musical legacy, cultural richness, and linguistic blend that continues to echo across generations. It is conceptualised by Shivangini Yeashu Yuvraj (vocalist) and Isha Priya Singh (narrative lead), and performed with Ishan Sharma (tabla & percussion), Vinayak Sharma (keys), and Aniket Chaturvedi (sax & flute). The musical landscape moves from evocative piano melodies to a vibrant fusion of folk, funk, and pop.
