Award-winning theatre maker, actor, director, educator, and improviser Tathagata Chowdhury brings to the stage his celebrated interactive performance, That’s Your Line Anyway, a unique theatrical experience first presented at the Goa Arts and Literary Festival in 2012.

The premise is deceptively simple: the audience provides the very first line of a scene. From that moment onward, without a second of preparation, Tathagata must create characters, situations, stories, conflicts, and resolutions entirely on the spot. No script. No rehearsal. No safety net. Just imagination, spontaneity, and the thrilling unpredictability of performances. 

More than a performance, That’s Your Line Anyway is an invitation to play. As the session unfolds, spectators gradually become participants, contributors, and eventually performers themselves. Through a series of engaging improvisational exercises and games, audience members discover their own creative instincts, finding the confidence to step into the spotlight and create stories in the moment.
