The collaboration between Marcus Schinkel and Reiner Witzel brings together two internationally acclaimed musicians known for their versatility and creative crossover approach.
Pianist, keyboardist, and composer Marcus Schinkel is recognized for blending classical music, jazz, and rock in innovative ways. His project “Crossover Beethoven”, first premiered in 1999 for the German Bundestag in Bonn, has taken him to stages across Europe, Russia, the Caribbean, Vietnam, and China. A multiple-time Best Keyboardist in Germany awardee by the German Pop & Rock Award Foundation, he has collaborated with renowned orchestras including the Beethovenorchester Bonn and the WDR Funkhausorchester.
Saxophonist Reiner Witzel is an internationally respected voice in jazz, pop, and world music. He has performed and recorded with legendary artists such as Richie Beirach, Dave Liebman, Alex Sipiagin, Fela Kuti, The Supremes, and Udo Lindenberg, and has appeared at major festivals including the Montreux Jazz Festival. His recordings have entered jazz charts in the UK and Japan, and he is also a respected educator and workshop leader worldwide.
Together, Schinkel and Witzel create a dynamic musical experience that blends virtuosity, improvisation, and cross-genre influences, captivating audiences with performances that bridge classical depth and contemporary jazz expression.
