Versatility and multifaceted talent are the defining attributes of John Oinam, a singer, songwriter, queer model and voice-over artist. John has enthralled audiences at top-tier events, including Sunburn Music Festival and Lollapalooza India Edition. His tantalising live performances span popular covers and folk songs. Early in his career, John featured in TV series including Indian Idol and The Stage, and he has also lent his voice to top-of-the-line brands. Besides Manipuri, Hindi and English, John croons Assamese, Bengali, Spanish and Portuguese songs too. He has recently begun to develop his original indie work incorporating Manipuri folk music’s unique elements. John is an advocate for several causes, including promoting the visibility of young singing talent in India's remote areas. John is unapologetically queer, and this identity often reflects in his fiery performances.
