BLU, a New Delhi-based blues band formed in 2015 by Darjeeling/Kalimpong/Kohima natives Pranai Gurung (guitar) and Kapil Chetri (vocals), delivers primarily Country/Delta Blues and reworked standards. Chetri is noted as an early proponent of fingerstyle Delta Blues in India, bringing a raw Mississippi sound. Gurung has a 15+ year history of writing and collaboration (Drift, Silk Route, Bipul Chettri), while Rahul Rai (bass) and Chewang Lama (drums) are active session musicians with renowned artists.

BLU writes and performs original music, with plans for their debut album in 2017. Regular performers at venues like Piano Man Jazz Club and Bandstand, they gained recognition by winning the Mahindra Blues Band Hunt and featuring at the prestigious Mahindra Blues Festival 2017 in Mumbai.
